Information and Referral

Sometimes, the pieces just don’t fit. When people need mental health help, often, it’s hard to know where to turn.

By calling our toll free number, Connecticut residents can gain information about support groups, behavioral health services for children, adolescents, adults, and older adults, crisis services, and other mental health resources to which they might not otherwise have access. And if we don’t know where the services are, we will research the issue until we do.   As one caller put it, “I had no idea that kind of help was available.   And it’s right down the street from me! Thank you so much; now I have hope.”

To access this service, please contact Meghan Maxwell at 860-529-1970 or 800-842-1501, extension 110, or email mmaxwell@mhact.org.

This Service is FREE. With no state funding, it exists solely because our members and supporters provide the means to make it happen. And with the current economic crisis, our call volume has gone up. We are hearing from people who have lost their insurance along with their jobs, people whose stressors are greater than their resources, people who are facing circumstances they never imagined possible—people who hurt.

If we are to remain in the business of lending hope to people when they don’t have quite enough of their own, we need your help. Please, make a charitable donation today.
